What is PBIS?

Positive Behavioural Interventions & Supports (PBIS) is a team-based approach to systematically teach expectations of positive conduct throughout our school. Its based on a model which focuses on explicitly teaching desired behaviourssupporting students as they learn to develop the behaviours, and reinforcing and recognizing students when they exhibit the behaviours.

The team approach is what truly makes this system work, and we count on our partnership with parents as vitally important members of that team to achieve a learning environment that is characterized by good citizenship and care through respect, responsibility and safety.

The three PBIS practices and how we define them at Meadowbrook are:

Safe – Make good choices; Be kind & accepting

Respectful – Keep an open mind; Be present

Responsible – Do your part; Be your best self today

Land Acknowledgment

Rocky View Schools would like to acknowledge the land and recognize all the Indigenous Peoples whose footprints have marked these lands from time immemorial. Together, we can learn and honour the Ways of Knowing of Indigenous Peoples for all future generations.
