Bulldog Community in Action: Defining What It Means to Be SAFE

As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a positive and supportive school environment, we’ve been engaging students in a deeper discussion about our school-wide expectations – Be SAFE, Be RESPECTFUL, Be RESPONSIBLE.

This past week, students and staff focused on personal growth and well-being by reflecting on what it means to Be SAFE in our Bulldog community – Make Good Choices and Be Kind & Accepting. By making positive choices, practicing kindness, building resilience, staying optimistic, and developing strong daily habits, we not only set ourselves up for success as learners, but also help create a safe and supportive school environment.

Students reflected on how they can play a role in making our school a safer, kinder community. Through engaging discussions, they explored their individual responsibilities in promoting a respectful and positive environment. They brainstormed real examples—and non-examples—of good choices and kindness, empowering each Bulldog to take ownership in building positive school culture. By examining and practicing what SAFE looks like, sounds like, and feels like in our classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces, students are actively shaping a healthy and welcoming place for all.

Stay tuned for more as we continue to build on these important conversations.

HERE’S WHAT’S COMING UP

February is Kindness Month at Meadowbrook!

Throughout the month of February, Meadowbrook is embracing the power of positivity and kindness. Our entire school community is coming together to celebrate and grow kindness in every corner of our school. Each day, students will engage in fun, reflective activities that inspire acts of kindness—towards themselves, their peers, and everyone around them. We're encouraging everyone to recognize, celebrate, and promote kindness in big and small ways!

In addition, each homeroom will have the chance to nominate two "Kindness Ambassadors" - students who consistently spread kindness, compassion, and respect within the classroom and across the school. The Kindness Ambassadors from each homeroom will be revealed on Pink Shirt Day, Wednesday, February 26. On this day, we’ll also take a stand against bullying, pledge to keep kindness at the forefront of our actions and reflect on how we can continue making a positive difference in our school and community!

Check out the Kindness Month activities on our Facebook page.

Thank you for your support in encouraging students to stay organized and manage their time effectively. Real-time tracking with 'WheresTheBus’ App

For assistance with WheresTheBus, submit a ticket through the RVS Transportation Portal.

RVS is transitioning to a new tool, WheresTheBus, to provide parents/guardians and schools with timely arrival and location information for our fleet of contracted buses.

The current Bus Status App will no longer be available effective March 6, 2025.

Please note that due to bus shortages and route substitutions, there may be occasions where tracking on your bus is not up-to-date. RVS is working with our contractors to ensure the accuracy of our WheresTheBus data.

To create your WheresTheBus account, you will need your student’s PowerSchool number, found on PowerSchool or by contacting your school.
