Bulldog Bulletin - 2025/06/23

Posted on

As we wrap up the 2024-2025 school year, we want to extend heartfelt thanks to all Meadowbrook families. This year has been full of learning, growth, and meaningful moments, made stronger by your involvement and encouragement along the way. Whether you joined us at events, helped out behind the scenes, or supported your child’s learning at home, your efforts have contributed to a successful year for students.

We’re proud of the community we’re building together and grateful for the connection between home and school. We look forward to all that lies ahead in 2025-2026.

Wishing you a safe and restful summer.

HERE’S WHAT’S COMING UP

Choosing Options for Next Year

It’s time for students to select their Option classes for the upcoming school year.

On Monday, June 23, students in each grade will receive an Option Choice Form. Please take time to review the course offerings and help your child rank all the Options in order of preference for each of the three terms.

Forms must be signed by a parent or guardian to acknowledge any courses that have associated fees, as these fees will be added to SchoolCash in the fall. Be sure your child’s first and last name are clearly written on the form, along with the required parent signature.

Students will be scheduled into two Options per term, for a total of six Options throughout the year. Students enrolled in Band (a full-year course) will be scheduled into three additional Options.

While we do our best to honour top choices, we cannot guarantee all first picks due to scheduling limitations. Our scheduler will work to find the best possible fit for each student.

Options Forms are due back to the school with parent signatures, by Wednesday, June 25, 2025. After this date, completed forms may be emailed to: jlaw@rockyview.ab.ca

Recognition Assembly – June 23

As we approach the final days of the school year, we’ll be taking time to reflect, appreciate, and celebrate. On Monday, June 23, we’ll come together for our Recognition Assembly—a look back on our year to acknowledge the many ways our students have helped shape our school community.

Assemblies will take place by grade:

  • Grade 6 – Period 2 (9:06 – 10:03)
  • Grade 7 – Period 3 (10:10 – 11:06)
  • Grade 8 – Period 4 (11:09 – 12:06)

The event will be hosted by our Grade 7 & 8 Leadership students, who have played a key role in planning the program and will guide us through the celebration.

Throughout the assembly, staff will highlight students who have made meaningful contributions to our school community through everyday actions and standout moments. We’ll be recognizing those who have helped shape the year through strong citizenship, creative expression, leadership, school spirit, and commitment to athletics.

Whether by consistently demonstrating respect and responsibility, leading with empathy and initiative, contributing through the arts, or modelling teamwork and sportsmanship, these students help build the safe, respectful, and responsible community we strive for every day.

We are proud to honour the heart, effort, and integrity our students have shown this year.

Thank you, Meadowbrook students, for all the ways you’ve led, cared, and contributed. We’re proud to celebrate you.

Bulldog Pizza Lunch – Monday, June 23

We're ending the year with a slice of fun! On Monday, June 23, students will enjoy a Bulldog Pizza Lunch courtesy of our generous School Council.

Each student will be treated to a slice of pizza, a bag of chips, and a bottle of water. A gluten-free option will be available to ensure everyone can join in.

Thank you to our School Council for serving up this tasty celebration to close out the year!

Report Cards

This is a reminder that your child’s report card is located in the PowerSchool Public Portal. You will not receive a printed copy from the school, but you or your child may view, download and print your own copy of the digital report card from the PowerSchool’s Public Portal any time from June 24.

Please note, report cards are not visible on the PowerSchool app (phone or smart device); use an internet browser on your desktop or laptop.

To access the report card, log into PowerSchool and look for the Report Card link at the bottom left of the page.

Only parents/guardians with access to PowerSchool’s Public Portal will be able to view the report card. Students also have access to view their report card by signing in with their RVS credentials. If you do not have a Public Portal account, please contact the school office.

ATTENTION: Families leaving RVS - If you are leaving Rocky View Schools, you will need to download your child(ren)’s report card by July 11 . All access to the Parent Portal will be removed after this date.

Spirit Days

June 25 - Twin or Squad Day

Grab a friend—or your whole crew—and coordinate your outfits! On Twin/Squad Day, students (and staff!) can dress alike in matching outfits, themed costumes, or coordinated colors. Whether you’re a dynamic duo or a full squad, it’s all about teamwork, creativity, and showing off your friendship in style!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Housekeeping Items for All Students

With less than 10 school days left, the school’s year-end celebrations also include attending to housekeeping items before students depart for the summer.

Outstanding Library Book Notices: June 23:
Students will receive outstanding book notices for materials they have not yet returned. The cost of lost/overdue items will be charged to students’ SchoolCash accounts. They will be unable to borrow textbooks, novels, etc., until their outstanding items/SchoolCash charges are resolved.

Lost & Found:
We urge students to check the lost and found which is in the portables. Items not collected by the end of Monday, June 23, will be donated to the Airdrie Community Thrift Store.

Locker Clean-Ups:
Last week, classes took time for a locker clean-out. Students should have brought home their binders, notebooks, pencil cases, other supplies, as well as any clothing or food containers. Locks remain with students this week so they can continue to secure their personal belongings until the last day of school.

Locks:
Students are to keep their locks over the summer as they will need to reuse them next year. Students who were unable to find their locks from previous years will need new school-issued locks in September and will be charged for their replacement. Hold on to your locks!!!!
