HERE’S WHAT’S COMING UP

Bike to School Day! - May 22

This Thursday, students are encouraged to get some exercise and ride their bikes to school. For those whose bikes need a little TLC, get to school early and head to the shop - Mr. Kelm will have an air pump and chain lube ready to get your bikes in top shape. And don’t forget your lock to keep it safe and secure.

Bikers Are Buddies Presentation – Friday, May 23

We’re looking forward to welcoming Bikers Are Buddies to Meadowbrook School on Friday, May 23. This unique group is dedicated to helping children and youth understand the effects of bullying, what to do if they’re being bullied, and how they can stand up and be allies to others.

Through a slide presentation and a series of engaging activities, students will learn practical strategies and build awareness around kindness, empathy, and inclusion. Bikers Are Buddies brings an important message in a way that connects with students and gets them thinking about how they can make a positive difference.

We’re excited for our students to take part in this meaningful learning opportunity.

Register Now to Save on 2025/26 Transportation Fees

Rocky View Schools (RVS) has opened transportation registration for the 2025/26 school year through SchoolEngage. Parents/guardians are encouraged to register by June 30 to receive a $40 discount or by Aug. 1 to ensure bus service for the first day of school.

In response to rising costs, transportation fees have increased for the coming school year. A list of fees is available on the RVS website. Families are encouraged to take advantage of the early registration discount to offset some of the transportation costs. Eligible families may also apply to have their transportation fees waived by completing a Transportation Fee Waiver.

The June 30 early registration discount of $40 is extended to each of the first two Kindergarten – Grade 12 students in a family, with additional students receiving $20 off if registering early. A minimum payment of 50 per cent is due at registration. Bus service may be cancelled up until Oct. 31 to receive a full refund for all fees paid.

Families are urged to register as soon as possible for transportation to ensure a smooth start to the fall. To guarantee service for the first day of school, registration must be received before Aug. 1. Students registered after this deadline may experience delays of two to three weeks before they can ride the bus.

For a step-by-step registration guide and more information on fees, visit the RVS Transportation webpage.

PARTNERS IN LEARNING

OurSCHOOL Parent Survey

To all Meadowbrook Parents/Guardians,

We invite you to participate in an online survey called the OurSCHOOL Parent Survey from May 12 to June 6. This anonymous questionnaire gives you the chance to share your thoughts on how the school supports learning, encourages positive behaviour, and keeps our community safe and inclusive.

The survey window runs May 12 - June 6. While taking part is voluntary, we encourage every parent and guardian to complete it so we can get a clear picture of what’s working well and where we can grow. Thank you for showing commitment to our school community by lending your voice to this process.

If you have any questions or need help accessing the survey, please contact the school office at 403-948-5656.

Meadowbrook School Council AGM – June 10

We invite all Meadowbrook parents and guardians to attend our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Learning Commons. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the role of school council, hear updates from the year, and get involved for the 2025–26 school year.

Whether you're interested in joining the council or just want to stay informed, all are welcome. We hope to see you there!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Weather-Wise

Spring is in full bloom, and with it comes all kinds of weather! We’d like to remind students to be prepared for time outdoors - whether it's sunny or rainy.

We’d like to remind students to be sun safe aware especially as we get warmer temperatures. This includes being equipped with hats, sunscreen (non-aerosol), and lots of opportunities to hydrate. Thank you for making sure students are ready for the outdoors at recess along with our PE classes and outside-specific outdoor options classes.
