HERE’S WHAT’S COMING UP

Tim Hasiuk Joins Meadowbrook as Principal

We’re excited to welcome Tim Hasiuk as the new principal of Meadowbrook School.

Tim brings a depth of experience in school leadership, having served as Assistant Principal at Bow Valley High School and Springbank Community High School. He also led Millarville Community School as Principal, where he was recognized for fostering strong relationships and a positive, student-focused school culture.

We look forward to the leadership and enthusiasm Tim will bring to our Meadowbrook community.

PARTNERS IN LEARNING

You're Invited – Meadowbrook School Council AGM
Tuesday, June 10 | 6:30 p.m. | Learning Commons

We invite all Meadowbrook parents and guardians to attend our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Learning Commons.

This is a great opportunity to hear about the work of our School Council, learn about plans for the year ahead, and consider how you might get involved in supporting our school. Whether you're interested in staying informed or taking a more active role, your presence and voice are valued.

We hope to see you there!

Last Healthy Hunger of the Year – Thursday, June 19!

Mark your calendars! Our final Healthy Hunger lunch of the school year is happening on Thursday, June 19.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and supported Healthy Hunger this year. It’s more than just lunch - it’s been a big part of our school fundraising efforts!

Because of your support, proceeds helped fund:

  • Our brand-new outdoor basketball court
  • Team jerseys for school sports
  • Special events like the student dance and staff appreciation
  • Field trip transportation subsidies
  • And new technology devices for student learning

We’re grateful for the strong Meadowbrook community that makes this possible!

Save the Date: Meadowbrook Casino Fundraiser – Dec. 7 & 8

The Partners of Meadowbrook Middle School Association is thrilled to announce our upcoming AGLC Casino Fundraiser at Ace Casino.

This event can raise between $40,000–$50,000 for our school - and we need volunteers to help make it happen!

Volunteers will work day, evening, and late night/early morning shifts on December 7 and 8, filling key roles behind the scenes. No experience is required - all training is provided on-site. Plus, volunteers receive a free meal and the chance to connect with others in the Meadowbrook community.

Parents, guardians, grandparents, and staff are all welcome to join.

Questions? Contact Shannon Pratt at shanpratt@icloud.com

Mark your calendars! This is an easy way to make a big impact for our students!

BULLDOG STRONG

Year-End Band Concert – Tuesday, June 17

Join us for our Year-End Spring Band Concert on Tuesday, June 17! Our talented band students will give two performances of this concert - once during Period 5 (1:00 p.m.) and again during Period 6 (1:55 p.m.) - to allow all students to enjoy the show.

Parents and guardians are welcome to attend either performance. No RSVP is required - simply arrive at your preferred time, and you’ll be guided to the mezzanine in the gym.

We look forward to celebrating a great year of music with you!

Leadership Spirit Days

June 20 – Color Palooza Day

It’s time to turn up the color! On Thursday, June 20, each homeroom will represent their chosen color by dressing from head to toe in it - staff included! Whether it’s red, blue, neon green, or hot pink, the goal is full participation and full-on fun. That means shirts, pants, socks, hats, accessories—go all in! The more, the better. Let’s fill the school with color!

June 25 - Twin or Squad Day

Grab a friend—or your whole crew—and coordinate your outfits! On Twin/Squad Day, students (and staff!) can dress alike in matching outfits, themed costumes, or coordinated colors. Whether you’re a dynamic duo or a full squad, it’s all about teamwork, creativity, and showing off your friendship in style!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Year-End Library Procedures

As we approach the end of the school year, please take note of the following important dates and reminders regarding library books:

Book Returns:

  • Students can return library books at any time, Monday to Friday, using the self-return machine.
  • Library periods will pause starting this week (June 9). This gives students two full weeks to return all library items.

To-Do List for Students:

  • Check lockers / backpacks / home thoroughly for any library books that may have been forgotten.
  • If you can’t find a book, please see Ms. Harris to review your library account.

Important Date:

  • June 23 – Outstanding items will be charged to student SchoolCash account.

Thanks for taking care of your returns and helping us wrap up the year smoothly!

Staying Safe and Focused

With summer heating up, we know students are feeling the shift in energy. It’s an exciting time, but we’re reminding everyone to stay engaged and finish the year strong.

Please also remember: No water toys at school

Even if they seem harmless, water toys can:

  • Distract from learning and interrupt the respectful tone we work hard to maintain.
  • Pose safety hazards - spilled water can lead to slips and falls, and some items may cause confusion or concern.

Thanks for doing your part to keep Meadowbrook safe, calm, and focused right to the finish line.
