HERE’S WHAT’S COMING UP

Year-End Band Concert – Tuesday, June 17

Join us for our Year-End Band Concert on Tuesday, June 17! Our talented band students will give two performances of this concert - once during Period 5 (1:00 p.m.) and again during Period 6 (1:55 p.m.) - to allow all students to enjoy the show.

Parents and guardians are welcome to attend either performance. No RSVP is required - simply arrive at your preferred time, and you’ll be guided to the mezzanine in the gym.

We look forward to celebrating a great year of music with you!

Recognition Assembly – Monday, June 23

As we approach the final days of the school year, we’ll be taking time to reflect, appreciate, and celebrate. On Monday, June 23, we’ll come together for our Recognition Assembly - a look back on our year to acknowledge the many ways our students have helped shape our school community.

Assemblies will take place by grade:

  • Grade 6 – Period 2 (9:06 – 10:03)
  • Grade 7 – Period 3 (10:10 – 11:06)
  • Grade 8 – Period 4 (11:09 – 12:06)

The event will be hosted by our Grade 7 & 8 Leadership students, who have played a key role in planning the program and will guide us through the celebration.

Throughout the assembly, staff will highlight students who have made meaningful contributions to our school community through everyday actions and standout moments. We’ll be recognizing those who have helped shape the year through strong citizenship, creative expression, leadership, school spirit, and commitment to athletics.

Whether by consistently demonstrating respect and responsibility, leading with empathy and initiative, contributing through the arts, or modelling teamwork and sportsmanship, these students help build the safe, respectful, and responsible community we strive for every day.

We are proud to honour the heart, effort, and integrity our students have shown this year.

Thank you, Meadowbrook students, for all the ways you’ve led, cared, and contributed. We’re proud to celebrate you.

Last Healthy Hunger of the Year – Thursday, June 19!

Our final Healthy Hunger lunch of the school year happens this Thursday, June 19.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and supported Healthy Hunger this year. It’s more than just lunch—it’s been a big part of our school fundraising efforts!

Because of your support, proceeds helped fund:

  • Our brand-new outdoor basketball court
  • Team jerseys for school sports
  • Special events like the student dance and staff appreciation
  • Field trip transportation subsidies
  • And new technology devices for student learning

We’re grateful for the strong Meadowbrook community that makes this possible!

Bulldog Pizza Lunch – Monday, June 23

Let’s end the year with a slice of fun! On Monday, June 23, students will enjoy a Bulldog Pizza Lunch courtesy of our generous School Council.

Each student will be treated to a slice of pizza, a bag of chips, and a bottle of water. A gluten-free option will be available to ensure everyone can join in.

Save the Date: Meadowbrook Casino Fundraiser – December 7 & 8

The Partners of Meadowbrook Middle School Association is thrilled to announce our upcoming AGLC Casino Fundraiser at Ace Casino.

This event can raise between $40,000–$50,000 for our school - and we need volunteers to help make it happen!

Volunteers will work day, evening, and late night/early morning shifts on December 7 and 8, filling key roles behind the scenes. No experience is required - all training is provided on-site. Plus, volunteers receive a free meal and the chance to connect with others in the Meadowbrook community.

Parents, guardians, grandparents, and staff are all welcome to join.

BULLDOG STRONG

Grade 7 Leadership Hosts Bulldog Bonanza for Grade 6

On Thursday, June 20, our Gr. 7 Leadership students will be hosting a special Bulldog Bonanza Day just for our Gr. 6 students. The event will include a variety of fun and engaging games, challenges, and team-building activities led by our Leadership students. It’s a great opportunity to connect, have fun, and build school spirit!

We’re looking forward to a fantastic day of teamwork and Bulldog pride.

Spirit Days

June 20 – Color Palooza Day

It’s time to turn up the color! On Thursday, June 20, each homeroom will represent their assigned color by dressing from head to toe in it—staff included! Whether it’s red, blue, neon green, or hot pink, the goal is full participation and full-on fun. That means shirts, pants, socks, hats, accessories—go all in! The more, the better. Let’s fill the school with color!

June 25 - Twin or Squad Day

Grab a friend—or your whole crew—and coordinate your outfits! On Twin/Squad Day, students (and staff!) can dress alike in matching outfits, themed costumes, or coordinated colors. Whether you’re a dynamic duo or a full squad, it’s all about teamwork, creativity, and showing off your friendship in style!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Report Cards

This is a reminder that your child’s report card is located in the PowerSchool Public Portal. You will not receive a printed copy from the school, but you or your child may view, download and print your own copy of the digital report card from the PowerSchool’s Public Portal any time after June 23.

To access the report card, log into PowerSchool and look for the Report Card link at the bottom left of the page.

Only parents/guardians with access to PowerSchool’s Public Portal will be able to view the report card. Students also have access to view their report card by signing in with their RVS credentials. If you do not have a Public Portal account, please contact the school office.

Housekeeping Items for All Students

With less than 10 school days left, the school’s year-end events also include attending to housekeeping items before students depart for the summer.

Library Returns: June 9 – 20:
All borrowed materials (books, novels, resource material, textbooks) must be returned to the library. Students, do a thorough search at home and at school to be sure you have returned all borrowed materials. Please let Ms. Harris know if you are having trouble finding the books you owe.

Outstanding Library Book Notices: June 23:
Students will receive outstanding book notices for materials they have not yet returned. The cost of lost/overdue items will be charged to students’ SchoolCash accounts. They will be unable to borrow textbooks, novels, etc., until their outstanding items/SchoolCash charges are resolved.

Lost & Found:
We urge students to check the lost and found at the front entrance and by the West Portables Doors. Items not collected by the end of Monday, June 23, will be donated to the Airdrie Community Thrift Store.

Locker Clean-Ups:
Students will begin official locker clean-up on Thursday, June 19 to ensure school supplies are going home or unrequired items are discarded in the appropriate waste containers.

Lockers will continue to be used until the last day of school to secure personal belongings.

Locks:
Students are to keep their locks as they will need to reuse them next year. Students who were unable to find their locks from previous years will need new school-issued locks in September and will be charged for their replacement. Hold on to your locks!!!!
