Posted onPBIS Student Advisory Group: Ideas for a Better School Experience
After their first meeting, our new Student Advisory Group shared what they love about the school, along with fresh ideas for making it better! They like Spirit and PJ Days, earning prizes and PBIS tickets, and going on field trips. Recess is better with clubs offering more options, and teachers are helpful, giving breaks when needed. Students are generally respectful to new classmates, and there’s good cooperation, like sharing equipment. The school’s rules are clear, reminders are visible, and recycling is used well. Overall, it’s a positive environment where students feel supported.
Looking ahead, the advisory group has some fantastic suggestions for making the school experience even better. They suggest improvements to washrooms, adding more prize draws each month, and hosting even more pep rallies, spirit days, and field trips. They also suggest creating more chances for students to share their thoughts and making bullying awareness a bigger focus in assemblies. To keep things exciting, they’d love to see better prizes for the draws, more school-wide activities like clubs and posters, and more opportunities for students to get involved in classes and events. These ideas will help make the school experience even more enjoyable, inclusive, and connected for everyone!

PARTNERS IN LEARNING
School Council Supporting Our Students
A big thank you to the School Council for their ongoing support of student learning and positive school culture. Thanks to their generous use of fundraising dollars, we’re excited to announce we will be purchasing new laptops that will really benefit our students’ education.
Council has also contributed by covering the cost of the DJ for our upcoming dance, ensuring a festive time for everyone.
We truly appreciate everything the School Council does to make our school a great place for both learning and fun! Thank you!
Alberta Education Survey for Parents
Parents, We Value Your Feedback!

More information about WheresTheBus including how to create your account, use the app, and frequently asked questions is available on the RVS website.
Please note, WheresTheBus is one more tool to provide information about your child’s bus ride and should not replace standard safety measures such as arriving to your bus stop five minutes before your child’s scheduled pick-up time, having a backup plan in case of a delay and ensuring your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.
