Bulldog Bulletin - 2024/12/05

Posted on

Dear Meadowbrook Parents and Guardians,

As an update to the letter sent on Monday, December 2, regarding the threatening message at our school, please be assured that we have taken this matter very seriously and implemented measures to prioritize the safety and well-being of all students and staff.

RVS and RCMP are confident that the school environment is safe, and regular operations can continue without disruption.

We are grateful for the support of our community partner, Airdrie RCMP, whose expertise and commitment to student safety have been crucial in assessing any potential risks and guiding our response. A School Resource Officer was present at the school on Monday and Tuesday this week to provide support and reassurance. We will continue to work with RCMP as the identity of the person responsible is still unknown.

Our response followed the Rocky View Schools (RVS) administrative procedures, which outline specific steps to address situations of concern. Members of staff are trained in risk assessment, ensuring a careful and thorough approach.

In addition, we implemented heightened supervision and received additional support from the school division. These measures, combined with the expertise of our partners, give us confidence in the safety measures in place.

We greatly appreciate your continued support and thank you for your understanding. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Sincerely,
Shawna Neis - Principal
Justina Law – Assistant Principal
