IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Healthy Choices Campus

This is a reminder that Meadowbrook School supports healthy eating habits, and items such as sugary treats or drinks with excessive sugar, including energy drinks and slurpees, are not permitted on school property. Also, large bags of snack items (chips, candy, seasoned snacks, etc.) are not appropriate for school. We ask that students bring reasonable portions of healthy snacks to support a positive learning environment and their overall well-being. Thanks for your cooperation.

Off-Campus Lunchtime Expectations

Only students with a signed permission form are eligible to go off campus for lunch. (SchoolEngage Form AF 330-A)

For students who have signed permission, it is expected they will go home for the entire duration of lunch eating and recess time - leave at the beginning of lunch eating portion through to the end of the recess timeIf students come back to campus during eating or lunch recess, they must then remain on campus under supervision for the remainder of the lunch break.

Please note that students who leave to go home for lunch are expected to return by 12:50 pm for the Block 5 bell to ensure they are not losing important instructional time. On Fridays, due to the shorter day, students must be back by 12:28 pm for their Block 6 classes.

NOTE FROM ADMIN

Principal News

At our recent School Council meeting, I announced that, at the end of this school year, I will be retiring from RVS and my role as Principal at Meadowbrook. Making this decision has been incredibly challenging, but after much thought, I feel the time is right to begin a new chapter.

In my 35 years as an educator, I've been blessed to work alongside so many amazing people. Our Bulldog team is among the finest. While I’m looking forward to what lies ahead, I will certainly miss the amazing Meadowbrook community. The connections I’ve made with students, families, and staff have meant so much, and I’m really grateful for all the ways we’ve worked together to support our students.

Typically, leadership announcements take place in May/June. I’ll be working closely with RVS and the new administration to ensure a smooth transition.

Thank you for your trust and support. It has been an honor to serve this community, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.

With much appreciation,

Shawna Neis
